Safeguarding And Getting The Right Support
Sunny Kids Shine® is not a crisis service or an emergency safeguarding service. While we provide emotional wellbeing support, advice and practical tools for children, families and professionals, there are times when specialist or urgent support is needed.
Immediate danger or emergency: Call 999.
Urgent medical advice: Contact NHS 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk.
Safeguarding concerns about a child: If you’re worried that a child is being harmed, neglected or is at risk of harm, contact your local authority’s Children’s Services/safeguarding team. If a child is in immediate danger, call 999.
Non-emergency police concerns: Call 101 if you need to report a concern or incident to the police that does not require an emergency response.
Support for children and young people: Children can contact Childline for free, confidential support on 0800 1111 or visit childline.org.uk.
Advice for adults concerned about a child: Contact the NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000 or visit nspcc.org.uk.
If you are unsure which service to contact, your local council’s website will usually provide details of its children’s safeguarding referral routes.
At Sunny Kids Shine®, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, seen, heard and supported. We encourage families and professionals to seek the appropriate specialist help whenever a concern falls outside the scope of our service.
